Several users of my Deepsky software had a good idea which I think is pretty
cool. They want me to put links for other astronomy apps inside my application that will enable them to launch other apps from within Deepsky. We all know most people use several astronomy apps so I can see this as a benefit for them. I have done this for a couple already and wanted to extend this offer to any of you, including competitive products to Deepsky. Here is what I am thinking: 1) Provide registry entries that show where your applications are installed on a user's system. If you have used different entries please provide all from your past products so that older versions of your software will work too. 2) I will add your software link to my software either on a toolbar button or on a menu. The user will be able to click the link to have your application started. 3) If the user does not have your application installed, please provide me with your web address and I will launch a web browser that takes them to your site. This is free advertising for you. I think having these links in my software will benefit all of us. My user's will see them and at least have a chance to visit your website. I am working on a new release of Deepsky now so as soon as you can provide me with this information I will make sure it gets added to my software. Thanks Steven S Tuma |
