Beautiful crystal clear frosty Chrismas Morn here in Surrey with
Mercury an easy naked-eye object next to brilliant Venus. Mercury seemed to have a pinkish hue. Posted a pic at http://home.freeuk.com/m.gavin/conjunct.htm Hope you get all the toys you'd hoped forg. Merry Christmas |

Same again after 7a.m. on 26th and 27th December from Brentwood (30km east of London). A pleasant opportunity in less than a minute to easily see Mercury, Venus, (Earth), Mars, Jupiter and Saturn all appropriately positioned in order along the ecliptic from east to west. Mercury was readily observable by naked eye for more than a quarter hour longer than Mars, despite Mars being much further from the Sun and in less bright sky. Anthony. |
