![]() PCportinc wrote: it's better to leave feces on Mars than ****. Leaving urine or feces on a planet would contaminate it with microorganisms from our bodies. Some of these microbes might be able to survive in the new alien environment. This is something we wouldn't want to do too early on, not until we discover whether the planet has native life of its own. Come to think of it though, maybe this is how life spreads through the galaxy. Passing space travellers leave they're excrement behind on planets they visit. Then after a billion years or so, the microbes in the deposits might develop into a myriad of life forms. It would be sort of a Scatological version of the Panspermia Theory. In fact, perhaps man himself is a direct descendent of just such a pile of alien crap! Double-A |
