Default Meade LX200 18V AC power adapter

My 18V (DC) AC power adapter is LOST and I need to get a new one. I believe
the Meade model number is #18110 is what I am looking for but I am having a
hard time finding a dealer who actually has them in stock.

I was wondering if this power supply is a proprietary item that is special
made just for Meade, or can I use a non-Meade brand 18V (dc) AC adapter? I
see some non-Meade ac adapters that are 18V/1amp models that might work, but
I need to know what adapter plug to use, and is 1amp model is the correct
power source to use?

Should I stick with trying to find the Meade model, or can I use other
brands of AC Adapters for my LX 200?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

I tried calling Meade, only to be put on hold for 45 minutes before I just
hung up. I guess they are very busy this time of year.

Radio-Shack sells a very good selection of power adaptors of different V and
A ratings,Check them out, they even sell the adaptors for a multitude of
configurations.
