Hi,
I have been looking at getting a pair of astronomical binoculars, and have seen a pair of "Meade / Bresser 9x63 Roof Prism Binoculars" for 60 quid (reduced from 100) on http://www.warehouseexpress.com Are they any good? everything about them adds up for what we want, if not does anyone have any other recommendations for some astronomical binoculars costing an upper limit of 100 quid? |

I got a pair of the Meade 9x63. The first set had a faulty eyepiece (looked like a slug on the inside!). But warehouse express exchanged them virtually by return and refunded all postage. I have been really really pleased with them. If I was forced to give up either the telescope (Firstscope 114EQ) or the binoculars (Meade 9x63) then the telescope would be gone. The binoculars are just so clear and provide stunning wide field views (e.g. Pleiades fit quite nicely). The Milky Way through them is mind-boggling. I've also heard good reports of binoculars from Strathspey as well (http://www.strathspey.co.uk/shop/front_page.html). Cheers, -- Neale Hind Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your children |

In the end we caved in and just bought some, as we figured that it may not be a special offer that lasts forever. So far we have been really pleased with them using them during the day, of course there is a very cloudy sky out there right now. So no chance of telling when we will be able to use them for their intended purpose. |
