The workshop will offer a detailed look at NASA's efforts to return Space Shuttles safely to flight. The televised briefings include (all times EDT): Sept. 16 8:00 a.m. Feed of workshop-related b-roll 9:00 a.m. Welcome and overview 10:30 a.m. Status and overview of International Space Station 1:00 p.m. Thermal Protection System inspection, repair & improvement 3:00 p.m. Improved ascent and entry imagery 4:00 p.m. Improvements to External Tanks and Solid Rocket Boosters Sept. 17 8:00 a.m. Feed of workshop-related b-roll 9:00 a.m. Status of planning for STS-114 (next Shuttle flight) 10:00 a.m. Potential changes in flight design 11:00 a.m. Improved program, mission management processes Sept. 18 10:05 a.m. International Space Station Expedition 7 crew news conference (via NASA link from Space Station). Only media attending the briefings at JSC will be able to ask questions. In addition to the briefings, media at JSC will have opportunities to visit facilities and talk with NASA engineers to see the work being done on many of the issues discussed in the briefings, such as Shuttle Thermal Protection System in-flight repair and inspection. NASA TV will feed b-roll of these events but will not cover them in their entirety. NASA TV is broadcast on AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-Band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
