I would suspect that no one in the ISS Program Office would actually
admit this is happening. "Jim Oberg" wrote in message ... Actually, it is correct that they do have an evac plan set to go on Dec. 30
if the progress resupply fails in some way. ISS does currently have something like a 30 day supply of food and they will return to ground if they have to. I do not know if it is due to the astronauts 'overeating' (news paper reporter hype) or just the fact that the resupply is running late. I'm not sure how much overeating can be going on if they all come back down weighing less than when they go up. Kim "Explorer8939" wrote in message om... ![]() sure how much overeating can be going on if they all come back down weighing less than when they go up. Kim Rumor has it too much food has been going to feed the zero G still, leaving them short on rations. |

This article puts everything into perspective: Progress was delayed by a month. As a result, crews are eating from reserves. So if progress doesn't launch before end of December, the crews may run out of food. It also mentions that the previous progress, food was sacrificed to make room for Elektron spare parts, so that didn't help the situation with regards to having a delayed Progress this time around. So the question now becomes: how come this progress is a month late ? had ATV launched on time in fall of 2004, would a progress still have been launched while ATV was attached ? If not, then I can see production scheduling problems with Russia having to change its production schedule to spew out a progress in fall 2004 instead of later. |

Wow....the food runs low and suddenly the press is the enemy of the
state. Yes the American protelariat masses understand that it is still early in the ISS food shortage game. Take some stress medicine. No one is blaming Russia for the food shortage. Instead of a 45 day reserve at the Christmas re-supply they will have 22 days. Time to make plans. |
