Which provides more stability for a GP class mount, a set of oak legs a la
Al's Astro, or an SVP pier? Steve... if well designed, legs can provide just as much stability as a rugged pier. OTOH, a badly designed pier can "resonate" worse than almost any tripod. But the bottom line for me is that it takes up WAY too much observing time digging a new hole and waiting for the concrete to dry when not observing from my own backyard. 8^) Bill |
