I haven't been able to get ANY of my comments posted in ANY moderated
sci.space.* group since September 3, 2004. Why? When I mentioned this outrage publicly I did get a response to my last posting. Here it is. What a crock of sh*t Your message has been rejected by the moderators. Their individual rejection messages we Moderator Graham said: Please do not send replies that do not contain any of the message that you are replying to. Leaving relevant parts of the message helps people to read your post in context. The posting guidelines for the sci.space.moderated newsgroup and gated mailing list can be found at http://www.robomod.net/sci.space.moderated/ A copy of your message is attached below. ----- snip ----- Return-Path: X-Original-To: Received: from sol01.isp.gweep.ca (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by sol01.isp.gweep.ca (Postfix) with SMTP id 91F43AD4A for ; Thu, 4 Nov 2004 16:52:21 -0600 (CST) Received: from trinity.supernews.net (trinity.ranger.supernews.net [216.168.1.22]) by sol01.isp.gweep.ca (SMTP proxy) with SMTP id 35544 for ; Thu, 04 Nov 2004 16:52:23 -0600 Received: from proxy.google.com ([216.239.37.5]:15861) by trinity.supernews.net with esmtp (Exim 4.42 (FreeBSD)) id 1CPqSj-000DmT-E0 for ; Thu, 04 Nov 2004 22:52:13 +0000 Received: from G000080 by proxy.google.com with ESMTP id iA4Mpehh007408 for ; Thu, 4 Nov 2004 14:51:40 -0800 Received: (from news@localhost) by Google Production with id iA4MpeeG009384 for ; Thu, 4 Nov 2004 14:51:40 -0800 From: (william mook) Newsgroups: sci.space.moderated,sci.space.policy Subject: Moral Equivalent Of A Space Program X-Original-Date: 4 Nov 2004 14:51:40 -0800 Organization: http://groups.google.com Message-ID: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Gweep-Robomod-Bayes-Sco 0.0001 If the US is in the business of liberating the world, then we must first liberate the minds of those teenage boys and girls growing up under the thumb of muslim clerics. We can best do this by doing anything we can do to inspire the imagination of those boys and girls. This is achieved by space travel development and commercial space development. |

Take every thread and every post you are interested in, trim out all the headers, add sci.space.policy to the header, and repost it in sci.space.policy with your reply. It will drive George nuts. Whatever is going on here is not involving the groups other than sci.space.moderated. As far as I can tell you've been posting your usual rate to .tech and .science and I've been approving it. I have six articles of yours in the approved and posted out to the internet folder for .tech/.science which were posted since 9/2/04: 335 09/20 william mook A first blueprint for interstellar travelS 336 09/20 william mook A first blueprint for interstellar travelS 339 09/20 william mook Reasonable Space Vehiclenavigaiter2002@aol 382 09/25 william mook Question about using balloons to get into sp 412 10/10*william mook Pocket Rockethttp://www.technologyreview.com/a 429 10/14 william mook Hybrid Motor Performancehttp://members.aol.com -george william herbert |

George,
they're not coming up for me on my system. I guess that's the problem. AND, others have not appeared and I've gotten no heads up. So, this is why I said what I said. At some point we must conclude its not really worth the effort. I've got things I must do every day, and if my comments and thoughts are no welcome, I have plenty of other venues in which to air them. Thanks for the info. Bill |

The usenet moderation system is crap. It has several single points of failure, even before it gets to the moderators mailbox. The mail system or news software at the posters newsserver can drop the message on the floor, the moderator mail gateway can fall over/bounce messages/... |
