Default Lori Garver Loses Her Soul

There was a debate--of sorts--between the Bush and Kerry Campaigns on
space policy. Looks like the Bush Campaign won on the princible that
something always beats nothing.

I have never before, by the way, seen Lori Garver's naked ambition
depicted so vividly, though I have been away of it for a decade and a
half. It seems that she'll willing to see human space flight itself
end, if only she could be put in charge of NASA. To paraphrase John
Bolt, "Lori, it little profits a man to gain the whole world at the
cost of his soul. But NASA Administrator?"

I would like to see coverage from someone other than Keith Cowing;
I like Keith's work in general, but he seems to have had a serious
beef with Lori Garver for some time now, and I'm not sure how
unbiased the reporting was here.

I am concerned about the specifics mentioned, however.

Based on what Ms. Garver said in July (?), she seemed seriously uninformed
(ready, fire, aim).
