On 2 Oct 2004 18:37:49 -0700, in a place far, far away,
(Brian Raab) made the phosphor on my monitor glow in such a way as to indicate that: All subhumans and jews entering space will be killed by SS spaceships! So, what else is new? |

And to take this thread in an unexpected right angle... Could the V2 win the X-prize? AIUI, the payload bay is (barely) large enough for three good friends. You'd need to: Make the engine restartable. Add a ballute/chute to keep it upright on descent. Add landing gear. Upgrade the exhaust diverters. Add ullage motors. Takeoff and burn until on course for 100Km, shutoff engine. Go ballistic until at 20 (?) Km. Fire ullage motors, restart main engine, fly a couple of descending circles ending up pointed upwards with a downwards velocity of a few dozen meters a second. Turn off main engine. Pop the ballute, wait till at 5Km, blip the engines, pop the main chute. At landing, blip the motor at just the right time to kill nearly all vertical speed. Crosswinds would be bad. |

The Canadian Arrow team is hoping to prove just that. Their design *is* a V-2. AIUI, the payload bay is (barely) large enough for three good friends. I've got a photocopy of a wartime sketch by WvB showing jsut that. What the purpose of cramming 3 people in a V-2 for was not well explained. |

Their design *is* a V-2. Hmm, thanks have to have a look. AIUI, the payload bay is (barely) large enough for three good friends. I've got a photocopy of a wartime sketch by WvB showing jsut that.
