Recently, someone posted about this group's opposition to the fight against
light pollution. I have tried to obtain a copy of their free pocket book but drew a blank despite several requests ( I do live in Canada...). Anyone managed to get their hands on this booklet ? Just morbid curiosity -- Deborah Remove "&mizar" to respond |

Just morbid curiosity Morbid, indeed. If you want to keep your wonderful country off this gang of right-wing thugs' in-line-for-destruction list, you'll keep quiet. A look at the names on the board of directors and the board of advisors of this group shows that it is a Who's Who of right-wing extremists whose agenda is the abolition of environmental laws and civil liberties that stand in the way of corporate profit. Here's a "Quick Fact" from their web site as of 09/07: "Based on a recent report by The Washington Post, those who would oppose property rights are committing even greater resources to their fight. One environmental group, Earthjustice, employs 50 lawyers nationwide and spends $18 million per year in legal actions. Since President Bush assumed office in January 2001, the group has doubled their caseload, and now files an average of 100 cases per year." (That seems to be a rather modest caseload increase, considering that since Dubya _took_ office, attacks on the environment have increased many fold.) Davoud -- usenet *at* davidillig dawt com |

Just morbid curiosity Maybe they don't even have such a booklet? Could be they are just using the form to harvest information- I wouldn't put it past a group as cracked as the Defenders of Property Rights. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com |

Just morbid curiosity -- For one thing, the US has far more right wing nutbar groups than Canada even though Canada claims no sainthood in such matters. Sooo, don't bother comparing apples to grapes. |
