Hi Rich,

I prefer Winstars for quick looks and Cartes du Ciel for more detailed
planning. Presently, I don't find S&T interactive maps to be of any special
value to me.

Best regards,
Anders H.

Block cookies by all means. Why let the WWW sites use our own storage for
their crap? Why leave the door open for cookies and bugs which can combine to
get your personal info from your PC for WWW sites to sell to each other?
Check out SpyBlocker for bugs, and Popup Manager to sidestep cookies. One
costs, the other is free.

Woops, the latter is for popups, not cookies. OK, allow the cookies which do
NOT go to third parties, then use a cleaner to kill all of them when you end
your online session. IE Privacy Keeper is a really good way to do that.

Hi Rich:

I'm afraid you'll get yet another "so?" out of me. If you want to use the Sky
and Telescope interactive star charts, you'll have to allow the website to set
a cookie. If you don't want a cookie, don't use the star charts. There are
other sources of quick, all sky charts on the web. Skycharts.com is an
excellent one, and so is heavens-above.com.

And the fear of cookies has been around for over a decade and has yet to
prove to be anything more than a modern irrational fear born out of
ignorance...

Hi Greg:

Yep. I fear this has now achieved "urban legend" status! ;-)
