Default Moon Tic Tac Toe...

Last night observing the moon from my house in Massachusetts, USA at around
01:00 UT 8/24/04, I noticed an interesting feature near the terminator of
the moon. 2 circular craters lined up diagonally right at the terminator
and just on the dark side of the terminator, mountains were poking through
and being lit up in the shape of an "X". This formed what looked like a
diagonal tic-tac-toe block 00X. It was pretty neat and really quite big and
noticible. Was wondering if anyone has seen this interesting phenomina
before?

I unfortunately didn't look too closely but I believe the 2 craters were
Aliacensis and Werner, the tops of mountains were likely tops of craters.

Let me know.

Mike.
