"Roger, uh, but..." (rest of "but" message lost).
Whether it was "but there's something else", "but
how will that affect runway selection", "but what
about whatever he was feeling through the controls",
or whatever, we won't know.

They said we wouldn't know where flat earth ended, too.
(I imagine things were getting a bit bumpy for the crew.)
