Default Naked eye sighting?

Perhaps my eyes need testing (or I'm just getting old :-( ) but I
haven't yet seen Venus in my BAA solar viewer. Nice orange sun, though.
I take back my earlier comment about going to Sinai.
The weather is co-operating, my camera is co-operating, and I'm sharing
this experience via newsgroups and the Web.
There's no place like home.
