I'm sure most of you will be out an about at events today, but I'm at home
right now. The sun is being naughty and hiding behind clouds right now, but it looks quite clear, and will get so later. I may miss ContactII, but hopefully I'll have a good view of the rest of the transit. Anyone else observing from home? Got any good views yet? |

Fair amount of broken high cloud here in Bristol and aside from having to keep moving the scope to avoid the neighbours tree I've gotten about 200 good shots already ![]() Tony |

Anyone else observing from home? Got any good views yet? Bit frustrating here in Gtr Manchester with great swathes of thundery mid level cloud and fairly thick high stuff. Did see Venus for about 10 seconds at 7am, well after contact II, but exciting anyway! Cloud thicker now hopefully more later. Paul Leigh Lancs |

Yup, I'm sitting in my back garden with several bin liners covering my kit ![]() landed, it was very light. I didn't expect to get contact 1 due to the houses in the way, but I had some hope for contact 2. Sadly I've missed that and the mother of all clouds is currently sitting over the sun. So, in the last hour I've seen nothing, but that may all change in a minute as I can see the sun approaching the edge of the cloud... Tim -- Love is a travelator. |

Anyone else observing from home? Got any good views yet? I missed first contact but had lovely clear skies for the ingress. Lots of pictures already - one would be one more than I got for Mercury! The sun is currently behind a patch of thin cloud which hampers pictures so I'm inside catching up on news and watching the live feed from Leicester University http://www.star.le.ac.uk/venus/ Lovely close-up! I think alt.binaries.pictures.astro is in for a good day! -- What have they got to hide? Release the full Beagle 2 report. Remove spam and invalid from address to reply. |
