One of our days was actually spent riding the EuroStar to Paris and
back- a very impressive train. And Paris WAS gridlocked, at least that
day. As regards the Arc de Triomphe, I'm sure some here have seen the
Peter Sellers movie (I don't recall the title) with the traffic at the
Arc, just as Stephen describes. What a hoot!

The last thing I want to say about the French is that you guys play
'footie' with 'em in a couple of weeks (June 13th?). Make sure you beat
the bast**ds!

I promise that this will be my last off-topic post on this
newsgroup..........

PS: The weather was great when we were in England, and a couple of
nights at B&Bs in the West Country had really clear and DARK skies.
Wish I could have brought my scope.

It occurs to me that there have been some very considerate French
contibutors to this newsgroup. Much as there are confusing cultural
differences between different nationalities which may be dispensed with by
the occasional afront; I'm hoping these contributors don't consider the
above to be indicative of others on this NG.

I won't apologize for my feelings- they just are, and I believe I have
reasons enough. However, I *DO* apologize for bringing them here.

Upsetting you was certainly not my intention. It was an unthinking
