Shiny silver metal photographed inside Martian rock

Does this picture not look like silvery coloured metal exposed by
Spirit using its rock abrasion tool... or am I seing things?

Just looks like the weathering has been removed to reveal the 'clean' rock
below. I suppose these rocks are volcanic in origin (although may have been
eroded by wind/water), mnay volcanic rocks are shiny if polished. The
contrast with the surrounding dust also makes it look metallic.

To me, it looks like an intrinsically grey rock covered by red martian dust.

Obviously NASA has discovered signs of ancient civilization and is hiding
the evidence. The metal was forced into the rock at extreme pressure,
indicating a nuclear holocaust --- undoubtably the cause of the end of the
Martian civilization.

Then again, it looks just like a rock.

To me, it looks like an intrinsically grey rock covered by red martian dust.

How come there's no 'metallic' glint exposed in any images? The
Martian crust must have some ores of at least common metals like iron,
nickel, tin and lead. Nothing showing in any pictures, and here's me
still dreaming of the substantial gold and silver deposits awaiting
discovery... somewhere.
