Did anyone else read this sour little piece in Times 2 ? It's at
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,7-978535,00.html "Beyond them is the cupboard where he keeps his full-sized model of the Beagle. He takes it out. I’ve seen bigger and sturdier hi-fis on Brixton High Street." That will give an idea of the tone. And someone should explain to Andrew Billen the difference in modern English between an ellipsis (an omission of one or more words in a sentence) and an ellipse. -- Save the Hubble Space Telescope! As a biased, pro-astronomy Brit, all the article actually said to me was; Billen is a tired cynical hack who has no particular enthusiasm for astronomy, and even less for Milton Keynes. But then I always read too much into things. :-) Denis -- DT Replace nospam with the antithesis of hills |
