Default Observing Saturn Last Night

Got my first chance to observe Saturn last night. Even at x200 the
image looked much smaller than I had imagined...(is this normal?) I
kind of imagined it would look really big in the eyepiece.

Despite this and the fact that there was much movement of the
atmosphere, I could clearly see the cassini division, and a darker
band on the planet at the temperate zone. The pole looked a littl
darker than the rest of the planet.

Could also make out what looked like about five faint stars around the
planet at various distances from it which I surmise are moons.

Cloud quickly came in from the west after about ten minutes.

Quite an experience, to see this planet so clearly for the first time.

Simon
