Default July Fourth meteorite in Florida!

Siting at the table with family, friends, Sunday, July Fourth, 2004,
North of Casselberry, Florida, 2 miles East of Highway 436, at
approximately 8 p.m.

There was a huge electrical tropical storm that had just passed through,
and the thunder was fading to about 6 miles South West, towards Cape
Canaveral Space Center, located on the East coast about 60 miles away.

Suddenly the skies grew golden, not the whitish glow of lightning, but
almost as bright! A loud BOOM rattled the glass in all the windows. We
physically felt the boom!

A 25 pound meteorite had hit the earth near Dog Track Road, and Highway
17-92, near Lake Mary, just South of Longwood Florida, about 15 miles
South of Sanford, in Seminole County, and 35 miles North of Orlando,
Florida.

The concussion blew all the windows out of adjacent homes, but, no one
was injured. The crater is the size of a VW bus. Almost immediately,
the police cordoned off the area. Tuesday morning the FBI was on the
scene, and finally, on Thursday morning, NASA sent out a recovery team.

The only announcement in the media about this was a mention in the 7:35
a.m. traffic report on Thursday morning, July 8, 2004.

My take on the sparcity of reporting: Nobody cares.

My conspiracy theory: 'They' don't want to panic the skitish public.

Your thoughts?

Patrick I remember that storm it made my dog afraid of lightning. I
live about 40 miles south of you,and did not hear anything about a
meteorite. Could it have been a gas explosion set off by all that
lightning? Why don't you look around that area for some rocks? I would

I heard nothing and I live in Clermont. Have not even heard anything on the
news about it. How do you know it was a 25 pound meteorite that hit near dog
track road?

Hi,

The information provided here is highly appreciated regarding this
Casselberry incident.

But my question is, Are you in any way linked to our government to
have this type of specific detailed information ?

If so, maybe there's a possibility your goal is to throw everyone off
here, unless there's some type of evidence regarding this so called
"crater".

Thank you.

I live in Casselberry about 5 miles from the blast. IT WAS DEFINITELY
NOT LIGHTNING!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone who I've told (who does not live
locally) has thought it was just lightning. I've lived in Florida for
25 years, we have thundershowers most days each summer, I know what
lightning sounds like, and this wasn't lightning!

Here's what happened:

My fiance and I were sitting in our home office browsing the internet
(the room lights were all off) and our room literally lit up for about
2 full seconds in a bright yellowish color. It was a strange color,
not what I expected to see during the lightning storm since normally
the color of lightning is more white. We both cringed for a minute
expecting to hear a really loud boom from a close lightning strike.
Given how bright the light was, I was expecting to hear a Thunder roll
within about 1-3 seconds. It was so odd because we didn't hear any
noises for about 15-20 seconds and all of a sudden it was a steady
loud BOOM that lasted for about 15-20 seconds!! To compare the booms
to something other Florida residents might be familiar with... it was
just as loud of a boom as the space shuttle breaking the sound barrier
when it reenters our atmosphere. Except it wasn't 2 equally spaced out
booms like the shuttle produces, it was one reeeeaaally long one.

We literally ran outside and the boom was still going on!!! All the
neighbors came running outside and we were all just in shock. None of
us had ever heard anything like that. Of course it was 4th of July
night, and a lightning storm was still passing through so after about
5 minutes of us all standing around saying "I can't believe how loud
and bright that was"... we all went back inside. I looked on the local
news and no one reported anything so we figured maybe it really was
just incredible lightning, because CERTAINLY something so phenominal
would have been reported to the stations if it wasn't lightning.
WRONG!

Just a few days ago I learned a meteorite stuck an empty parking lot
in Casselberry, leaving an impact crater the size of a small bus, near
Dog Track Road, near Highway 17-92.

Multiple reports from local residents on Dog Track Road indicate soon
after the blast, police and FBI agents had blocked off the area (of
course). NASA came in from the East Coast, and began investigations
with radiometers, in their decon suits (eyewitness reports).

Apparently multiple residents near the explosion have become very ill,
some have lost their hair and been vomiting everyday since 4th of
July. As if they have radiation poisoning. Of course there have still
been no reports of this! ::::

If you want more info about it, check out the link below from another
local resident that posted about it on ebay. I'm quite concerned, but
what else can we as a community do to find the truth?

http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.js...0&msRa nge=40

No one in the media (except radio station real rock 1011) has
commented on this issue at all! In fact I found this google thread @
the radio stations website:
http://www.realrock1011.com/showinfo_afternoons.html

The following link is to a picture which was taken on July 29, 1980:
http://www.gographics.com/lightning/still106.htm

What's so significant about this picture (besides the unidentified
bright lights in the sky), is that this incident happened over Lake
Kathryn, almost in the exact location of the "meteorite" impact, in
Casselberry. Yes 1980 was a long time ago, but this is just very
strange.

What do you think is going on here and who can I report this to to get
some answers??

You learned this how? Did you see the crater with your own eyes? Are you a
geologist?

Multiple reports from local residents on Dog Track Road indicate soon

Do you have anything other than anecdotal heresay evidence?

Apparently multiple residents near the explosion have become very ill,

Apparently?? Now you are thowing conjecture in with the heresay? Have you
personally met with these people who have lost their hair and are vomiting
every day? Are you a physician, or do you just play one on Usenet?

If you want more info about it, check out the link below from another

Maybe you should take another Prozac and watch the X-Files.

The National Enquirer?
