I've been looking for a pair of binos for some time, but second hand prices
appear to be inflated by a frisky collectors market. There are some 13 X 70 Chinese binos on ebay for £45, with some interesting info and testimonials, including praise from a John Bushell, a name I can trace to Guildford Astro. Soc. Some criticisms are published, amongst the testimonials, of the daytime terrestrial colour reproduction and the long minimum focussing length, neither of which are particularly relevant to my intended use. I've already got a decent pair of Zeiss 8 X 30's, which are great for looking at tits out of my kitchen window, but I want a pair for skywatching. I'm a bit colour blind, so perfect colour reproduction would be wasted on me, otherwise, my vision is pretty fantastic for an old Git. I don't wear glasses and have decent night vision. Any knowledge/ opinions as to their suitability? Thanks Ian |
