![]() Thank you everyone for your help so far. And don't be shy when you say I have to do a lot more thinking on this. I'm in the planning stage and don't expect to start until summer. As far as the beam goes, I'm a construction engineer. So I understand the loads at the bottom and the depths needed in the soils I'm dealing with. But I did not foresee the sway as you guys mentioned. And think the beam my not be an option now because of increase in diam. needed to stop the sway. I may be stuck with it just being built on the house. And wonder how this will effect a scope of this size. I also have a small business manufacturing remote control systems for video and film cameras. (www.cameraturret.com) So my intent was to run focus by remote control and do the seeing from a monitor on the first floor. Only going to observ. for set up and eyepiece changes. I can easily make the observ. turn at the rate of the scope. But doubt I could build go-to electronics. Am I missing anything? Lou |
