![]() (Also posted uk.sci.weather Brilliant. After assuming it was going to be cloudy all night, I looked out after midnight and it had cleared. Bands of green were stretching right across from east to west. As I watched, intense reds developed, and a corona (?). I've tried to capture the show as far as is possible with a camera. Photos taken between approx. 12.30 and 1.30 this morning. Canon S50, f2.8, ISO 200, 15 secs Http://home.clara.net/ra.evans/aurora/index.html and yes, it was that bright!! this links to a thumbnail index. The larger images are uncompressed jpegs to keep pixellation to a minimum, but they are only 500 x 375 so shouldn't take too long for those, like me, who don't have the luxury of broadband..... -- Anita Evans North Cumbria (anita[at]ra.evans.clara.co.uk to reply by e-mail) |
