How do the Tal reflector telescopes to Orion Reflectors when considering value
for money? Given the choice between a Tal 6" reflector and the Equivalent Orion Optics telescope which one would you choose, and why? Thanks for advice. |

![]() I can't comment on the Orion, I've never used one. However, a friend has a TAL and it's a very well made scope for the money. My friend says it's built like a T34 tank. I've seen some wonderful things through it. -- Damn sures it is, I'd bet on it up against a Tiger...! TAL is quality though. I'm a newbie-ish amateur and I have no problems with it. Only problem I have is light pollution, oh and the feckin trees in my garden! Dave |

Next time I see a T34 thrashing across the Eastern front on some WW2 programme I'll wonder if it's gun barrel is now part of my telescope. Martin |

One day I dropped it and apart from a scratch to the paint there was no damage. On the other hand I once saw a man getting off a boat in Northumberland, we'd been to the Farn Islands, he stumbled and put his hand out to save himself and the Olympus he was carrying exploded into a thousand bits. -- Regards Nick So now we know what they made from the old tank tracks!!
