Says " It's prodigious 305mm (12.0"), Pyrex® parabolic primary mirror
pulls down 42% more light than 10" optics and 126% more than 8" optics". And I thought light radiated on its own, without any need for "pulling". Phil Joe S. wrote: Here is a link to the Orion web site about the XT-12 -- does not list a price. http://www.telescope.com/jump.jsp?it...rID=398&KICKER |

Here is a link to the Orion web site about the XT-12 -- does not list a
price. Hi: I've been told that the price (without the DSC compuer) is 995 US$. Say "buh-bye" to the Meade 12.5 inch. ;-) Peace, Rod Mollise Author of _Choosing and Using a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope_ Like SCTs and MCTs? Check-out sct-user, the mailing list for CAT fanciers! I think you can start showing the 12.5" PDHQ from Discovery the door
as well. $1299 for .5" additional aperature , no encoders, and no finder....CYA! BTW, I am 15 hours from completly rebuilding my Discovery 13.1" web special. Its purrty....(thats for you Rod ;-)) I've been told that the price (without the DSC compuer) is 995 US$. I think the advantage that the Asians have is that the 12 inch OTA's are more manageable, 56 inches or so in length instead of 64inches and 48-50 lbs for the OTA instead of 60+ lbs. jon |

As a bonus it includes those nicely figured mirrors that turn a lot of people
into refractor fans. Clear Skies Richard |
