EP Cleaning

Some of my more offen used EP's are starting to get a bit in need of clean
ups, what with fingers, ladys eyelash's,etc. I've notice a bit of film
starting to show up. In the past what little I needed to do I used camera
lens wipes for it, mostly dust. But I'm thinking of distilled water and a
single drop of dawn in a full pint. Think this would do ok?

Hi:

That would probably be OK. Just don't allow the liquid flow between the
elements. I think an easier solution is a small Lenspen.

I bought one of those for my eye-pieces. When I used it, I found a white
powdery residue on the lenses, so never bothered again. Is this normal, or
did I just get a duff Lenspen? If it is normal, how do you remove the white
residue?

I never had this problem. Did you try brushing the lens with the other end of
the pen? Or was the residue "stuck" to the lens?

As far as I know I was using it correctly. It wasn't "stuck" to the lens,
but I just guess it shouldn't be there. I used a blower brush to remove the
residue, but I don't really want to have to clean my lenses after cleaning
my lenses

lenspen (i.e. 7mm ortho, etc.)?
