If you are (or ever were) the owner of A Baader (Celestron) MPCC
(Multi-Purpose Coma Corrector), my question is: Would the "Tunable Top" from a Paracorr be in any way adaptable to an MPCC? I'm aware that the optimal distance to the MPCC from the field stop of an eyepiece is supposed to be 55mm, and that whereas in the distant past most eyepieces field stops were at the focuser shoulder, this is no longer the case very often, and thus a tunable top is needed to gain proper spacing. I have an opportunity to pick up an MPCC, but it will be the T-Threaded photographic unit only, and will not have the visual use accessories required for use with 1.25" or 2" eyepieces. TeleVue markets a retro-fit tunable top unit for the Paracorr, so my hope is that there might be a way to adapt this to the old MPCC, thus giving me visual use, and the needed ability to custom tune the 55mm spacing. How much is the MPCC going to cost? Are there any optics needed or just parts?

In this configuration it is only usable for photography, and I need it for visual use. Celestron used to sell them with optional adapters for visual use with 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. I don't believe these have been sold in the States since ~1989, but they are still being mfg'd and sold in Europe, new for ~120 to 130 Euros (for just the optical unit section).
