Default Equatorial Platform kit?

Hi. Does anyone have any experience building or using an equatorial
platform kit? Our club needs one under our big 18" dobsonian. We're
looking for a single-axis unit. Upgradeable to dual-axis would be nice, but
not necessary.

Now Affordable Equatorial Platforms http://www.eqplatforms.com/ seems to
have a nice unit, though I don't know if it can be upgraded to dual-axis.
Has anyone used one? TL Systems http://pw1.netcom.com/~tlsystem/index.html
is a little cheaper and can be upgraded to dual-axis. Does anyone own one?
Do you like it? Does know of or could recommend any other kit?

I asked earlier this week, only got a snide remark. I'm sorry if I offend.
Personally, I'd love to see a Tom O. equatorial platform
http://www201.pair.com/resource/astr.../eq_platforms/
( I own three of them). But our club just doesn't have the $1600-$1800, nor
is it likely anytime in the near future. Just too many other projects of
higher priority.
