Default Observing list generator

Hello all,

I copied this web site from a posting in the TAC observers list.
http://www.ngcic.org/oblstgen.htm

It enables one to generate one's own customized observing list,
depending what constellations you want to look in, what kinds of objects
you want to look at, what magnitudes of objects you would like to
select, and so forth.

It looks very good to me. In my opinion it is the next step up from
using the James's Mullaney's fine Celestial Harvest list I also like the
Celestial Harvest book itself , because of the text. (Amateur
Astronomy has a wonderful review of the book by one of SAA's best
posters) Here is the Celestial Harvest list:
http://www.txastro.com/celesthar.txt

And also the next step up from Steve Gottlieb and Tirion;s Wil Tirion's
fine DeepMap 600 list Thanks to Ray Cash for arranging the list by
constellation):
http://pages.sbcglobal.net/raycash/dmcon.htm

I also like to use the DeepMap 600 itself because it is pictorial, but
the list is very handy for planning observations.

A commercial alternative, to all these is SkyTools2, by Greg Crinklaw,
which is more complex but has more features, such as maps and photos,
rising and setting times, times of crossing the meridian, and so forth.

The two best lists of actual observations I have been able to find are
Steve Gottlieb's:
http://www.ngcic.org/gottlieb/default.htm

and Steve Coe's:
http://www.saguaroastro.org/content/obsnotes.htm

Sorry if you knew all this already.

Thanks for this, Bill. I have never used a list generator but your link has
motivated me to give one a try. I now have it bookmarked.
