EM drive hype

Recently had some bad journalists in Britain and USA confusing warp drive
with EM drive. Shawyer was wheeled out to spruik his reptile grease.
Now NASA only got microNewtons, a few times the experimental error.
Curious that a Chinese professor in 2012 claimed 720 milliNewton.

The Chinese were operating at much higher power levels than NASA has to
date. Also the Chinese experimentation was done using magnetrons sending
microwave energy into the cavity, whereas the NASA experiments piped
microwaves into the EM cavities with HDPE plastic dielectrics.

NASA Eagleworks intend to test next at higher power levels, I don't know
if they plan on switching to using magnetrons or to keep experimenting
with the dielectrics.

Note that the torsion balance used at NASA also was tested against an RF
dummy load in place of the cavities and those controls showed zero
force applied to the balance when signal was applied, unlike the cavities.

More recent tests at NASA that achieved positive results were also
conducted in a vacuum, which I believe makes a much stronger case.

It is my understanding an effort is underway at NASA Glenn to attempt to
replicate the Eagleworks experiment.
