Default Geoengineering via Moon relocation and exploitation / Brad Guth

So, removing the moon to L1 is possible in this way. The moon may also be processed to create a Guth sphere - a fractional Dyson sphere, stabilized by the interaction of Earth and Solar gravity at 1 AU from the Sun. The interior is quite large.

With the right raw materials, a space elevator may be contemplated that spreads tentacles throughout the Guth sphere and encompasses the Earth. Consider a ring of magnets and coils that have iron particles circulating through it around the Earth at escape velocity (11.19 km/sec) or higher. It produces tension in the ring, lifting it, and maintaining it in position, despite it not moving anywhere near orbital velocity. An aerial grid may be created in this way around the Earth, that connects to a space elevator that goes from Earth to L1.

A constant two gee acceleration, that typically felt by passengers at take off of an airliner, requires 9 hrs 45 minutes to traverse this distance. Energy of accelerating 'pods' is transferred from pods that are slowing.

The distance from the L1 point to the rim of the Guth cap is 90 million km. 90 billion meters. That takes 3 days and 4 hours to reach that point.

With 124 million sq km per person, population growth reduces this to 1 sq km per person in 3657AD a period 3,700 years after Sputnik!

Travel occurs by a ballistic transport to the maglev lines encircling the Earth - attachment through magnetic field after approaching the maglev track.. Travel then proceeds along the maglev line to nearby the destination then travel is across the outside of the destination shell.
