There's a book out there called "Rocket Girl" a biography of rocket fuel
expert Mary Sherman Morgan of North American Aviation written by one of her sons. An article and video was posted on the BBC today about both her and the book here at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23349135 Wikipedia article about her he http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sherman_Morgan Wonder if John D. Clark (1907-1988) knew her? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_D._Clark Dave PS: Another North Dakotan. Too bad born way before Pat's time! They'd probably gotten along quite well! :-D |

I find references to Hydyne (aka Bagel!) but no mention of Mary Sherman-Morgan. Too bad... Ah the halcyon days of the 40's & 50's, where rocket science was a bit of trial-and-error, guts and glory... Besides just dry theory and computer simulation. But then I'm probably just a hopeless & delusional romantic. :-) Pat & Mary Well, she was literally old enough to be his mother! Ohhh. Hey that'd explain a lot.... ;-) |
