The Earth does not tilt towards and away from the Sun but this is what happens. Aside from daily rotation to the central Sun,each and every location on Earth turns once to the central Sun as a component of the orbital motion of the Earth hence in just a little over a week the Northern polar coordinates will be carried around in a circle to a point where it meets the circle of illumination otherwise known as the Equinox. The decree of axial inclination determine what type of climate a planet has within a spectrum between polar and equatorial with the Earth's climate very much towards the equatorial end of the spectrum, were the Earth to have a 45 degree inclination it would take on more polar traits with larger latitudinal swings in daylight/ darkness and subsequently larger temperature variations across its orbital period. This explanation is not a theoretical assertion but rather a 100% observational certainty so set aside your astronomical almanacs of the voodoo of celestial mechanics and interpret imaging as though you had the talent to do so like all other professions which require a high degree of integrity and pride. http://www.planetary.org/blogs/emily...2007/1253.html If some guys are too dull, too lazy or too incompetent to handle the new approach to the seasons and why natural noon cycles vary then just leave this thread alone and don't read it,it is that simple. |

Readers know I pegged you as a Usenet thug and an anonymous coward although people have called you John Parker before - another dull empirical mind who can't interpret a simple image much as a doctor would make sense of an x-ray - http://www.daviddarling.info/images/...gs_changes.jpg To make sense of the changing orientation of the polar coordinates of Uranus to the central Sun and their continuing motion in a circle as they are carried around by the orbital behavior of the planet requires a modification to axial precession a it is presently understood and especially the switch to an annual orbital component which those image are dictating and any fool who imagines that the polar coordinates of Uranus do not continue to turn will hardly be capable of making sense of just how major this modification is.The 'celestial mechanics' are lost and let them chant empirical voodoo all they like, this is a straightforward interpretation which shows that all planets, including the Earth turn in two ways to the central Sun. Looking at what you care in your signature almost prevents me from responding ,again, being a Usenet warrior behind anonymity is nothing other than a coward and most people know it and perhaps it is best to let to fade away in that anonymity with no standing other than an anonymous coward - sorry. |

Readers know I pegged you ================================================ What does Earth tilt toward and away from at equinox, you evil anonymous anti-empirical thug? Readers will know the answer. To 'tilt' is an action,a verb - the Earth's polar coordinates don't tilt, they are carried around in a circle to the central Sun by the orbital behavior of the planet hence the need to modify axial precession as it is presently understood and has been since the time of Copernicus.Of course the last person who applied a modification of this nature,Kepler in this casedid so out of observational necessity just as contemporary imaging of Uranus dictates the required modification which introduces an additional orbital component to explain why the Northern hemisphere will see more daylight in the coming months and the Southern hemisphere less, There is nothing personal, you are like Nicholson in having no technical acuity to interpret the imaging and that is why silence is probably your only option as opposed to a noisy racket of a dullard trying to pass himself off as an intellectual warrior.Again, the Earth doesn't tilt to the Sun as an action,it takes two motions to account for the seasons and variations in the natural noon cycle and they are so easy to read directly that chant voodoo or insults all day long, they will be there for people who can enjoy them as opposed to people who can't adapt or adjust - http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/arc...99/11/video/b/ Sometimes these astronomical insights are not for everyone and take comfort in that. -- This message is brought to you from the keyboard of Lord Androcles, Zeroth Earl of Medway. Read mohttp://www.answers.com/topic/tilt#ixzz2NEBgo2sS What does Earth tilt toward and away from at equinox, you evil anonymous anti-empirical thug? Readers will know the answer. There is no shame in not being capable of handling the imaging which shows Uranus turn South to North in its daily rotation and East to West by virtue of its orbital component, you cannot see the orbital motion of Uranus around the Sun directly but by applying interpretative skills to extrapolate the orbital behavior of the planet it is possible to see why the orbital path and behavior of the planet carries the polar coordinates round in a circle to the central Sun rather than the outdated 'tilting' action and all its awkward variants - http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/arc...99/11/video/b/ The mathematical empiricist wants to chant definitions in the hope they can avoid visible interpretation but that is simply a restatement of what Pascal knew as a deficiency among mathematicians even before they set out on the catastrophic course of a clockwork solar system modeled from timekeeping averages - They are scarcely seen; they are felt rather than seen; there is the greatest difficulty in making them felt by those who do not of themselves perceive them. These principles are so fine and so numerous that a very delicate and very clear sense is needed to perceive them, and to judge rightly and justly when they are perceived, without for the most part being able to demonstrate them in order as in mathematics, because the principles are not known to us in the same way, and because it would be an endless matter to undertake it. We must see the matter at once, at one glance, and not by a process of reasoning, at least to a certain degree. And thus it is rare that mathematicians are intuitive and that men of intuition are mathematicians, because mathematicians wish to treat matters of intuition mathematically and make themselves ridiculous, wishing to begin with definitions and then with axioms, which is not the way to proceed in this kind of reasoning. Not that the mind does not do so, but it does it tacitly, naturally, and without technical rules; for the expression of it is beyond all men, and only a few can feel it. But dull minds are never either intuitive or mathematical" Unfortunately you and Nicholson belong to the dull category because the intuitive/interpretative faculties give depth to perception and their conclusions and that is why I only contend with the vicious strain of empiricism as it throws out all physical considerations to conclusions or rather distorts observations to fit conclusions. You want to move things to personal insults and you cannot as then you hide behind the utter dullness of Nicholson but the easier way is just leave the imaging to tell the actual story and why the seasons are not caused by a tilting Earth or any variation on that theme, the variations are due to two dynamics of daily and orbital motions working together and that means modifying what axial precession represents and a shift to an annual orbital feature. |
