Default Celestron tripod & wedge

I have the heavy-duty tripod that now ships with the 8" NexStarGPS. I
would like to use the threaded holes to fasten a heavy-duty wedge
(from a 11" NexStarGPS) to the tripod.

Does anyone know what size the threaded holes and are threads course
(sp) or fine?

Thank you very much.

Kevin

Most if not all Celestron base holes are threaded 3/8-inch coarse.

Michael,

Thank you, but I do not that is the right size. I have tried the whole is a
little smaller. It might be metric as I cannot find any standard bolts that
will work.

Thank you.

All the Celestron, and Meade scopes, use imperial threads.
I think you are talking about the holes in the top face of the tripod itself
(the ones used to attach the wedge), rather than the holes in the scope
base?. If so, these are 5/16 ANC.

Best Wishes

Right -- 5/16 coarse, as we call it in America.
