LCD/ LED large digital picture frame or print?

The gentleman recently posting about selling Hubble prints got me to
thinking about it and I wonder which would be more suitable, printing and
hanging prints or hanging a digital picture frame that would display
downloaded hi-res Hubble images?

A quick look at digital picture frames shows that there are now 19" ones
with decent reviews available for less than $300. Some will even play
movies. I believe all the ones in this price range are LCD based though,
but the smaller ones at a cheaper price are LED. Just load images onto
flash card, hang frame, and allow it to display images at random times/
selections.

Then we have prints. No electronics to deal with and sizes/ resolution
available exceeding digital picture frames at the moment. Only problem is
cost. Even 10 prints in 16x20 size will set you back more than a 19" dpf.

For anyone displaying either their own astro work or someone elses, what
method do you use and why?

I think you need to look for a more cost effective print service. 16x20
prints should cost something more around the £10 mark (~$16) so you
could get 20 of them for the cost of one 19" photo frame.

For $30 ( ~ £20) my favourite lab will print me a picture 100cm x 70cm. YMMV

I would have them printed by a trusted lab after explaining to them what
I wanted. There is a real risk they will auto exposure adjust the sky
background to be much less dark than you would like it.

I was used to colour negative film coming back with an "images all under
exposed" sticker on and was careful to always put one normal scene image
on the start and end of a roll so that automatic cropping could find the
image boundaries.
