See it all as phase and the forces are unified. (Click link below.) http://www.amperefitz.com/phase.htm Dr. Milo Wolff is right: It's a frequency universe. He's not right afaict. Still, Caltech has published some very interesting things recently. http://www.calphysics.org/Patent.html Basically, you create microscopic channels in a substance, to create 'stiction' within which is a function of the Casimir effect. That way the quantum energy of the molecules passing through the channels change. That means the energy it takes to convert them changes. So, by converting them inside the channel, and then allowing them to change outside the channel, provides an energy advantage - which might be exploited to produce useful energy from the zero point energy in vacuo. http://www.calphysics.org/zpe.html Now, you can do more than use the Casimir effect to tap into the zero point energy. You can use the Schwinger Effect. http://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&sou...lrvZkQ&cad=rja Basically, the Schwinger Mechanism is similar to Hawking radiation. That's because a strong electric field operates on charged particles the same way a strong gravity field operates on mass particles. Put an electric field up stronger than 1 billion billion (1e+18) volts per meter - either with a polarized x-ray laser, or charged plates - and particles are pulled out of the vacuum! Now, directing the particles created in a particular direction produces thrust in the opposite direction by rocket action. Particles that are entangled, or correlated will disappear a short distance from the thrust generator leaving no evidence of their existence. Since zero point energy is equivalent to 1e+110 times the radiant energy level at the center of the Sun, it has substantial gravitational action if made real. This level of energy is equal to 1e +93 grams per cubic centimeter. A disc 1 cm thick and 10 meters in diameter that has a density of only one part per million this limit has a surface acceleration of 6.8e+68 gees. So, things to fall into the disk along its center line at this acceleration. When the disk itself accelerates away at this high-gee level using zero point energy rocketry an object falling into the disk will maintain a constant distance from it. An object accelerating at 1 gee for 1 year (ship time) approaches the speed of light. At this point Lorentz contraction takes over. Continuing the acceleration allows circumnavigation of the cosmos in 40 years ship time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relativistic_rocket Increasing rate of acceleration reduces the times required aboard ship by the factor. So, accelerating at 10 gees gets you to near light speed in 5.2 weeks and allows circumnavigating the cosmos in 4 years ship time. Now, the zero point energy of the cosmos, made real by the Schwinger Mechanism, when shaped into a 1 cm thick disk 10 meters in diameter at 1 part per million the absolute density possible - creates an acceleration along its center line of 6.8e+68 gees. This means that light speed is achieved in 4.6e-62 seconds and cosmic circumnavigation is achieved in 1.8e-60 seconds. Of course a year still goes by on Earth as light speed is approached and billions of years pass as the cosmos is navigated. So, that's a problem. With a solution. At the center of most galaxies - including our own - is a spinning super-massive black hole. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagittarius_A* That black hole has an ergo-sphere http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergosphere This is a region where things can fall in at a given point in time, and emerge at an *earlier* time creating a closed timelike curve http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_timelike_curve In common terms, we can use zero point energy to create massive objects that accelerate regular objects at high gee to very high speeds. The massive objects create rockets of immense capability to accelerate the whole apparatus at very high gees in a way that produces no exhaust and no gee forces on the regular matter payloads. We then navigate the apparatus through the ergosphere of a conveniently placed super massive black hole to arrive wherever we wish whenever we wish in less than 2e-60 seconds. |
