Default Martian Mystery Parade Keeps on Playing

The Spirit dunes!
More questions.

Why are the grains so small...or perhaps degraded... is a better
word?

Why are they coated with those ubiquitous pebbles?
Why are they cemented in place?
Why are they there at all?

The only answers provided for the previous mysteries, the
soil, the layers and the spheres have been.....
not sure, not sure and a 'rush to judgment'.

And now with the dunes it's another "not sure".

The silence of the exactly half-dark rocks balances
the rush to judgment, bringing the whole to a perfect
symmetry of 'not sure'.

Perfectly tuned!

This consistent and predictable string of insecurities will continue
it is guaranteed. It is our habit, the revered and unquestioned
specialist requirements of part explanations. Since charts and graphs
are the tools of Holy Trade, these 'mysterious' features Must
be reduced to fit nicely within their predetermined margins.

But life does not comply. It never fits in a box, and it never will.
The mysteries are predestined to continue until the last
mechanical breathe, it is a mathematical certainty, as life exists
at the edge of chaos. At the edge between the static and chaotic
.....the known and unknowable. The place of guesses
and intuition ...of storms and life... where no charts
or equations can work.

This is the spectacle of determining the indeterminate.
This is time-traveling to the era of leaches and spells.
This is the Dark Ages.

Where "Proof of Life" is a mystery.
