ASTRO: My best astro image so far this year: M27
I'm not sure if I was supposed to capitalized "astro", so this is a repeat,
just in case. I decided at the last minute last night to drive to Taylorsville Lake because I wanted to get one last imaging session in this week before the weather turned bad. For a change, everything worked pretty well, and I got a really good set of images of Messier 27. I Just got done processing them, and here is the result: M27 DATE July 7-8, 2010 PHOTO Exposu 15 x 1.5 minutes Focal: 1000 mm, f/5 Master dark subtracted EQUIPMENT Imaging Scope: Konus 200 mm Newtonian Camera:Hutech Canon T1i with Baader Coma Corrector at ISO 800 Filter: Baader IR-UV cut Guide camera: StarShootAutoGuider Guide scope: Orion Shorty 80mm Mount: Losmandy G-11 with gemini Goto SITE & CONDITIONS Location: Taylorsville Lake, Kentucky Seeing: Very good Transparency: above Average SOFTWARE Stacking: DeepSkyStacker Processing: Photoshop CS3 |

Coming from you, I take that as a huge compliment, Richard. I know it needs
more time, and I would love to do some narrowband imaging on it. I have the filters, but don't have the filter wheel yet. If things work out right for me, that may happen in the next couple of weeks. What with my grandkids here I put the filter back on though hasn't been
needed for some time thankfully. In any case it isn't case sensitive so either worked fine for me. Looks like it was worth the trip. I spent 40 years traveling to a dark site. Sure nice not to have to do that any more! No matter how well I checked my list of things to pack something always got left and I'd have to make do without whatever I forgot. I don't miss that either! Rick On 7/8/2010 6:43 AM, George wrote: I'm not sure if I was supposed to capitalized "astro", so this is a repeat, just in case. Nice image George.
Those nights where everything comes together are rare, but I guess the hope to get more of them is what keeps us going... Stefan "George" schrieb im Newsbeitrag m... Thanks, Stefan. I got a few others I will probably post soon. One last
entry I'd like to get before the summer season closes is NGC 6559, though I expect it will be a challenge for my set up. You never know until you try.
