Default Exoplanet HAT-P-4b in Bootes

Dear group,

Last night was my last available opportunity to pursue the transit of
exoplanet HAT-P-4b in Bootes for the current season owing to the fact
the transit is relatively lengthy at 254 minutes in duration plus the
one hour of preingress plus one hour post-egress data which are
adviseable for the establishment of baseline levels. As a result, the
approximately 6.5 hr effort is very tricky since nights are getting
shorter and all of the work must be done with the host star as high in
the sky as possible so as to minimize the adverse effects of
scinitillation.

This exoplanet is quite tricky since it is characterized with a
transit depth of only 8 mmag (ie. 0.008 mag). I am very pleased with
the final result and which documents beautifully the transit and which
had the post-egress follow-up cut short due to the arrival of astro
twilght: http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Photomet...4-20100422.htm .
HAT-P-4b completes one orbit about its star in just over 72 hours (!)
and is characterized as a low-density hot-Jupiter. Its discovery was
announced 2.5 years ago by the HATNet exoplanet hunting team.

Anthony.
