Some of the camera views of the pad show a large yellow flame on one
side (probbaly behind the pad). What is burning ? If it were excess hydrogen burning, wouldn't it be a blue flame ? |

Yes, it is excess hydrogen and its some ways behind the pad. It is burned by a kerosene or natural gas flare (someone confirm which?) in where the hydrogen is mixed to ensure the burning; the venting hydrogen wouldn't necessarily be at flammable levels on its own. Hence, the flame is not blue. -- Mika Takala |
