...It's a shame, but then again Spirit lasted almost six *years*
longer than the warranty allowed for, and unless Oppy hits another
sandtrap it could last another two years at the very least. More if
they hit another dust devil for a quick wash.

Its a comic but wouldnt it be wonderful to be able to retrieve some
equiptement eventually?

here we have the apollo snoopy, heres a viking lander and spirit from
mars, over there a surveyor from the moon. The large display
dominating the hall is the apollo saturn stage that was stuck in
heliospheric orbit for many years its in remarkably good condition and
the lagest item ever returned from space.

Now the highlight of ur display The apollo 11 lunar module upper
stage, its companion the lower stage is still on the moon as a
moonument, covered by a glass bubble.

As you know the LM was recently recovered using the new time travel
technology. Isnt it a beauty!

Yeah I KNOW this is a fantasy, so why not go all the way?

Over there we have the very first sputnik, the russians asked for its
return to their country.
So far we have possesion but the legal issues are ongoing

some things never change

That's sort of the plot of the movie "Moon".
