Default Is KSC visitor centre closed on ALL launch days?

G'day!

I was just wondering if KSC visitor centre is closed on all launch days, or
just shuttle launch days??

Specifically, the 3rd Feb when the Atlas V rocket launches.......

Can anyone confirm??

Thanks!!

Umm, it's not closed on launch days.

However, I believe you end up buying a different ticket which among other
things is valid for any attempted launch of that flight.

I.e. you buy a pass to STS-200 to launch on May 23rd. You show up, they
scrub until May 24th. The same pass will get you back onto the grounds.
They scrub again until June 30th. Same pass will get you back onto the
grounds.

HOWEVER, if you buy the causeway bus pass (which I recommend) and they bus
you out the causeway and THEN scrub, you've used up the bus pass and need to
buy one for the next attempt. (on the other hand, if they scrub before the
busses roll, the pass is still good for the next attempt.)

As for Atlas V launches, I doubt KSC visitor center does anything special
since that's from the CCAS side, not KSC.

However, I'd visit http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/ for more details. I'd
also recommend if you have twitter, especially on your phone to sign up for
it. VERY handy come launch day to keep track of things as they change.

Closed until n hours after Shuttle launches.

Open, although some bus tours might be curtailed/redirected.
