If you live on the East Coast, tonight will be the first night in weeks that
we will likely have a cloudless sky. If you live in NYC, you get a special bonus, as city was just struck with a power outage. At the moment, it seems like this will be a major outage and power may not be restored anytime soon. So, dust off the telescopes! It will be clear and dark tonight...it may also be hot without A/C. But it also means thousands of people are stuck in elevators and in subways.
It's also the hottest day of the year in many of the affected cities. L Brown |

L Brown It's definitely premature to already claim that day will be the hottest day of the year! We cannot rule out even hotter days within the next weeks or so. So wait a month or two before making such a judgement. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Schlyter, Grev Turegatan 40, SE-114 38 Stockholm, SWEDEN e-mail: pausch at stockholm dot bostream dot se WWW: http://www.stjarnhimlen.se/ http://home.tiscali.se/pausch/ |
