Does anyone know, what the status of the Two Wide-angle Imaging
Neutral-atom Spectrometers (TWINS) mission is, which has been selected some yeas ago as a Explorer mission of opportunity. The Homepage list the TWINS as piggy-back instruments on non NASA government spacecraft on Molniya orbits - presumably military SDS satellites. http://nis-www.lanl.gov/nis-projects/twins/ On the other hand, the Honeywell database lists thes TWINS as dedicated spacecraft on Pegasus launchvehicles. http://ccs.honeywell-tsi.com/msdb/mi...sion=TWINS%2DA Can anyone clarify, what the truth is. Thanx, Gunter Krebs www.skyrocket.de/space |
