Default Moon occults Venus???

According to Astronomy magazine, the demarkation line of the event was
suppose to be from detroit to san antonio I think. I live in Kansas
City, which is well west of that, but they were at least 1/2 a degree
apart this morning. Still a very pretty sight rising over my pond, but
not as spectacular as I was hoping for. I have noticed that Astronomy
mag. has not been too accurate on other things over the years.
Thoughts? mes.
