Interesting concept. However, if axions are a leading contender for dark
matter particles, then why would gamma rays, which by definition travel
at the speed of light, want to travel across the universe as massive
axions? It would take them forever to get here compared to other forms
of light.

If "string theorists" can parade across the universe dressed as
physicists, why not gamma rays dressed as "axions", or bozos, for that
matter?

But seriously, if no "Higgs", SUSY, SUGRA or "string" theory, what
then!

Top things that will happen when Higgs isn't found

10) Japan sues for peace

9) Anti-relativists march on Princeton with pitchforks

8) Your stereo suddenly stops working

7) Obama budgets a million trillion for big science

6) Another round of The New Math in elementary school

5) Swedes retracts every Nobel Prize since 1936

4) Universe quickly collapses into a black hole

3) Tevatron fluctuation spews loaves of baloney

2) Middle school kids still don't get algebra

And the number one thing that happens when scientists don't find the
Higgs

1) Back to the drawing board

I'm surprised to find a knowledgeable chemical scientist on this newsgroup.
