NGC 6504 sure looks like one to me. Notice the odd outer halo that is
the same thickness everywhere around the brighter inner core and disk. A very odd edge on galaxy about 200 million light years away. If I did the math right that makes it about the same size as our galaxy to slightly larger. It's "flying" through a very empty area of Hercules. 14" LX200R @ f/10, L=4x10', RGB=1x10' binned 3x3, STL-11000XM, Paramount ME Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |
