OK, so there are no astronomy competitions in the Olympics :-(
What kind of astronomy competitions can people dream up? What are (or would be) your favorite (actual or otherwise) competitive events to attempt at a starparty? At a club observing session? For an online astro-community? etc. Bill Greer To sketch is to see. |

If this were a few years ago, with film-based astrophotography, there could

What kind of astronomy competitions can people dream up? Since we already have the ongoing competition of "who has the biggest telescope," I suggest there be one for "who can see a given [faint] object in the smallest aperture." How that can be verified is up to the judges, not me. ;-) |
